Not For Public Recognition

"Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven (Matthew 6:1).

To God Be The Glory

If you give just to be praised by man, you have received your reward. The same goes for prayer; you'll receive nothing from God. "Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. And when you pray, you should not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Truly, I say unto you, They have their reward (Matthew 6:2,5). Your righteousness is of God. "God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; he made us pure and holy, and he freed us from sin (1 Corinthians 1:30). Giving to the less fortunate, and or praying for others, are not done as a public show. Giving comes from a place of love in the heart that God put there, and Prayer is between you and God; no fancy lexicons required.
