"Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speaking's, as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: if so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:1-5)
Spiritual Milk is for our Spiritual Growth and Salvation
As children we were always told to drink our milk. Our loving parents knew that milk was good for us in protecting and building healthy bones. Milk also promoted substantial growth for the body. Our heavenly Father is the same way with us when it comes to our growth only He is more concerned about our spiritual growth and salvation. We are being built up an holy priesthood chosen by God to offer up spiritual acceptable sacrifices to Him by Jesus Christ, lively stones (1 Peter 2:5)
All Babies Love Milk
New born-again believers are considered babes in Christ. I have never known any baby not to love milk. Try and give a baby water when he or she is craving milk. Milk is a natural satiate for babies which is why God made women to produce milk from the breast, not water. As babes in Christ, it is God's design that we crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it we may grow up spiritually in our salvation. Too many of us want to go straight for the meat. However, no one gives a new born baby steak it would literally kill it. A baby's insides must be made strong before they can handle the heavy stuff. In your walk with Christ start on drinking the pure spiritual milk until God makes you mature enough to chew it.
Do You Want to be Acceptable by God?
Desire to be nourished God's way. His timing is perfect. God's Word is Pure Milk. His Holy Spirit will mature you. God knows when you are ready for meat. Trust Him. "O taste and see that the LORD is good: Blessed is the man that trusts in him. (Psalm 34:8). You will experience His goodness and you will grow properly and perfectly in Christ Jesus
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow. Put it all in His hands. Have a blessed stress free worry free day on purpose and never stop believing Jesus is Lord, and He paid it all.
