Its Not Why You Suffer, It's How You Suffer

Updated: Jun 15, 2020

To suffer is an inevitable part of this life. Jesus suffered and He opened not His mouth (Isaiah 53:7). If you suffer as a Christian there's nothing to be ashamed of: praise God that you bear the name of Jesus (1 Peter 4:16). But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters (1 Peter 4:15).

Take Up Your Cross

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Jesus stayed on the Cross, 'He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). Be of Good Cheer. It is a blessing to suffer for Christ. The suffering that we are going through in this present time is not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us (Romans 8:18). Suffering Parallels Blessings.

Put On the Whole Armor of God

"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; (Ephesians 6:13-17).

Walk in the Spirit

The Holy Spirit has and is the power of God. It is the same Power that raised Jesus, and it is the same Power that can and will raise you... ( Romans 8:11).
