"Be on your guard and stay awake. Your enemy, the devil, is like a roaring lion, sneaking around to find someone to attack. But you must resist the devil and stay strong in your faith. You know that all over the world the Lord's followers are suffering just as you are. But God shows undeserved kindness to everyone. That's why he appointed Christ Jesus to choose you to share in his eternal glory. You will suffer for a while, but God will make you complete, steady, strong, and firm (1 Peter 5:8-10)
We're Not Exempt
Absolutely no one is exempt from the devils attacks. With God's power we can resist the devil (James 4:7). The devil is the master of deception; a thief. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy .....(John 10:10) our health, joy, peace, ultimately our faith in God. Jesus said, ..."I have come that they [believers] may have life, and have it to the full (John 10:10). Eternal life is the central point of our walk with Jesus. Be on your guard. Daily renew your mind in the Word of God. God's Word is the only Power that keeps us strong in our faith. It tears down every stronghold. "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). We'll experience some suffering, but God will make us complete, steady, strong, and firm (1 Peter 5:10).
