Why the Cross?

"Jesus was pierced because of our rebellions and crushed because of our crimes. He bore the punishment that made us whole; by His wounds we are healed (Isaih 53:5) He carried in His own body on the cross the sins we committed. He did this so that we might live in righteousness, having nothing to do with sin. By His wounds you were healed (1peter 2:24). He destroyed the record of the debt we owed, with its requirements that worked against us. He canceled it by nailing it to the cross (Colossians 2:14).

Why the Cross?

Because, as stated in scripture, it is where Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice for nothing that He'd done. Jesus did not deserve such a death. He left a place of Holiness and Righteousness to be a sacrifice for the sins of the WORLD; He did it for us. He did it in order that He may heal and make us whole- presentable as Holy and Righteous to God. So, the Cross is where we can receive restoration for our sin sick soul. It is where we can be put back in right relation with God. The Cross is where Jesus nailed the eternally unpayable debt that sin would have cost us, which by doing so He pardoned; forgave, us. We were sentenced to death until the Cross of Christ (Romans 5:12). There are many more scriptures that answer the question 'Why the Cross?', to which the message is clear. Unfortunately, "The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are being destroyed. But [thankfully] it is the power of God for those of us who are being saved (1 Corinthians 1:18).

Because God Loves Us

"God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him won’t perish but will have eternal life John 3:16).

Jesus Said

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6). All who want to come after me must say no to themselves, take up their cross, and follow me (Mark 8:34).
