"Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men (Matthew 2;16).
Herod was worried about his position/status as King, because he didn't understand the reason for Christ's coming.. People are afraid of others because, just like Herod, they are worried about their position/status. But, there is a reason God chose you/us. "I [we] know that you [God] can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted (Job 42:2).
Its Already Done
Since the beginning Satan used people and groups of people to try to stop God's plans, however Satan is already defeated. God chose you/us. "...ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). Its already done. God has the final say (John 19:11). All you have to do is endure till the end. Jesus said, "Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved (Matthew 24:4-13)."Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walk about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8).
