If The Roots Are There, They Can Grow

Updated: Nov 15, 2021

Life is not always easy. Sometimes it changes us for the worst. Shattered dreams may lead to hopelessness, and helplessness. Thankfully, we can be restored. If the roots are there, they can grow.

Train Up A Child

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it (Proverbs 22:6). Life is all about choices. The most important choice man can ever make is to serve God. Our ancestors, from generation to generation, prayed for for us. They taught us through the Word who God is and how he loves us (John 3:16). To do opposite of what we learned is sin. Sin is always the culprit as to why we go astr It is a must that we resort to our upbringing. We must continue to ask God to, 'Show me Your ways, O Lord;Teach me Your paths.(Psalm 25:4). It is the desires of our own hearts, set apart from God's will, that cause us to stray. "Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death (James 1:13-15). Ask the Lord, Lord, 'Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.(Psalm 119:133).

Jesus Tells The Parable of The Lost Son

Then He said: “A certain man had two sons. And the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the portion of goods that falls to me.’ So he divided to them his livelihood [like us with God, this child had no regard for his father's authority]. And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, journeyed to a far country, and there wasted his possessions with prodigal [reckless] living. But when he had spent all, there arose a severe famine in that land, and he began to be in want. Then he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine . And he would gladly have filled his stomach with the pods that the swine ate, and no one gave him anything [he sunk so low that he became unclean]. “But when he came to himself [He remembered his training; Proverbs 22:6], he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” [Now, He is ready to confess his sins committed against his father - Romans 10:10] “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him [God heard him rehearsing what he wanted to say. He hears us, and can heal our backsliding...Hosea 14:4]. And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’[He confessed his sins] “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fated calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry (Luke 15:11-24).

[If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. -1 John 1:9]

God Loves Us

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16) .
