God's Healing Touch Touched Me

"So it was, when Jesus returned, that the multitude welcomed Him, for they were all waiting for Him. And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at Jesus’ feet and begged Him to come to his house, for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him. Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped. And Jesus said, “Who touched Me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’ ”But Jesus said, “Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me.” Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately. And He said to her, “Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” (Luke 8:40-48).

God's Healing Touch Can Touch a Multitude Simultaneously

If you think God is too busy to heal you, think again. Jesus was on the way to heal the daughter of Jairus (a man of prestige) and it didn't stop Him from healing the woman with the issue of blood (someone seen as unclean). You see God is no respector of persons (Romans 2:11-15). The story is that this woman spent all she had putting her hopes in man to no avail, even though she heard of Jesus and His healing powers. Why didn't she come sooner? I don't know. Why don't we come sooner? I don't know. I do know that God knows everything. And even when we think He is not watching, it is He who bids us come. We hold ourselves back out of fear of rejection, shame, feelings of unworthiness, doubt, unbelief, and the list goes on. But God..."For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). She Believed. She only needed to step out on Faith. All she wanted, and needed, to do was touch the hem of His garment. Still trembling out of fear, she hide. Who touched Me?, Jesus said with His infinite perception. This woman, presumed to be unclean in her day, came out of the dark and confessed in front of the multitude that it was her. She came just as she was; weary, wounded, and sad. And so can you. Jesus knows we need Him. He knows when we reach out to Him and He can heal us on the spot in that moment. We only need to, like this woman did, testify of God's Glory, Grace, Mercy, and Power through Jesus Christ. She made up her mind to reach out and touch Jesus and her faith saved her. All it takes is faith the size of a mustard seed (Mathew 17:20).

Reach out and touch Jesus and He'll touch you

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded (James 4:8)
