Down But Not Out

Updated: Oct 26, 2020

"Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent (Revelation (2),2:5).

God Knows All About It

Jesus is the head of the church/body/believer. He knows everything that goes on in and amongst the church/body/believer; accomplishments and failures. Jesus commends the church/body/believer for hard work, perseverance and resisting sin, and doesn't expect one to lower its/their standards or tolerate sin. God is the One Who sets the standard. His approval is more important than man's. Yes hate the sins of others only be certain to hate your own sins as well; examine yourself. Remember from where you have fallen and repent. With all of your heart, soul, and mind get back to loving God. Love Him with the same fervor you had for Him when you accepted His Son Jesus. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Do it so that your light not be extinguished. Jesus will bring you through the tough times. Jesus is the One Who sees and saves; the Way... (John 14:6). He cares about His churches, which is why He had the Apostle John to write them letters.

Don't Become Casual About Your Faith

Jesus makes it clear God's feelings about becoming loveless, immoral, lifeless, and lenient toward sin and false doctrine. No one knows how many chances he will get to take God at His Word (Matthew 24:36-44), so "Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent (Revelation (2),2:5).
