"For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. If then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that itis good. (Romans 7:14-16)
The Struggle is Real
Don't allow anyone to tell you that the struggle to do good God's Way is not real. God gave us the law (commandments) not to try and keep them, but to show us that we were too sinful to keep even one (Romans 3:20). All of us are sinners from the womb, till death do us part. Believers are not exempt. To go against what you were born with is a struggle. Of course, believers don't want to sin against God, however, because of a lack of understanding in the message of the Cross, one will. If you have given your life to Jesus and are struggling within, it's the commandments (the law) doing what it was designed to do; point out to us that we are born inherit sinners in need of a Savior.
Jesus is The Way
Although the sin nature will always be with us, we can, through Christ Jesus, make it dormant. We do this by believing in God's Word and placing our faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work on the Cross. Let God's holy Spirit take care of the rest. Till death do us part means exactly what it intends. Thankfully, once we accept Christ, we die to our sin serving self "Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? (Roman 6:3). Our death to self begins before the water baptism. " Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise, you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace (Romans 6:8-14).
Let The Struggle be Over
If you are walking after the Spirit, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit (Romans 8:1,5).
It's not always going to be easy but it's doable.
Don't beat yourself up. Praise God from Whom all blessings flow. Put everything in His hands. Have a blessed stress-free worry-free day on purpose, and never stop believing Jesus paid it all and He is Lord.
