Are We Helpless In The Presence of Death?

Updated: Aug 27, 2021

"Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me. Your rod and Your staff protect and comfort me (Psalm 23:4)."

Are Helpless In The Presence of Death

No! We are not helpless in the presence of death. Death is something we all will face. We will either face it for ourselves, or watch a loved on face it. Whichever the position we are in, we don't face death helplessly. God gave us help. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved (John 3:16-17). Jesus is the Way, Truth, and Life (John 14:6). He is the One Who walks with us as we go through the/this valley. Jesus is our continually comforting Shepherd. He protects our hearts and minds from the fear of death's shadow. His rod beats the attacks of the enemy on our minds, and His staff pulls our hearts back into focus on His love and promises. Regardless of the surrounding danger, continue to focus on, and follow, Jesus.
