You Are Too Close To The Mirror

A mirror is something that gives a minute representation, image, or idea of something else. Mirrors are not a reliable source to give us a full picture of, or validate, who we really are. This is because a mirror reflects the images of the self that one has formed in his mind of figures, or likenesses of things that he has collected in his mind over the years. Things like the ideas we have about people and the ideas people have about us, places we go, various cultures we encounter, all of which have a great impact on the belief system and how one sees himself. Mirrors present a plane, hollow, and or distorted reflection of you."For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was (James 1:24). We are to close to the mirror to see ourselves as God sees us.

Made In God's Image

"....God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them (Genesis 1:27)

Male or Female, you were made in God's image. God's image is a reflection of His Glory that a mirror cannot give. Only the Word of God can change a man's image and character to reflect His own. He sees us as more than we see ourselves. However, one must be a hearer and a doer of the Word.

Hear And Do God's Word And See How God Sees You

Man cannot see himself as God sees him byway of the mirror. It is imperative that one listen to what God's Word says about him, moreover to obey it. God's Word gives us a true reflection of our sin nature and how to be freed from it. The more one hear's and does God's Word, he will see the effects it has on his behavior and attitude."....whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. (James 1:25)
