Don't Look Back!

Don't become too attached to your life to the point where you leave no room to be obedient to God. Yes! I now you want the good life filled with a loving family, friends, a healthy bank account and things that you have gained and achieved along the way. But what about God? He says not to store up for yourselves treasures on earth (Mathew 6:19). That doesn't mean that you should not enjoy the fruit of your labor, however it does mean not to get too attached to those things that are temporal, and stored up; .....where moths and vermin destroy, and rust does corrupt and where thieves break in and steal (Mathew 6:19).

What Should I Do Lord?

"Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” (Mathew 19:21). That is to, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Mark 12:30-31). "When the young man heard this, he went away sad, because he had great wealth. Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”(Mathew 19:22-24).

Don't Look Back!

"With the coming of dawn, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Hurry! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away when the city is punished.” (Genesis 19:15). As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, “Flee for your lives! Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away! (Gensis 19:17).

"By the time Lot reached Zoar, the sun had risen over the land. Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah—from the Lord out of the heavens. Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, destroying all those living in the cities—and also the vegetation in the land. But Lot’s wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.(Genesis 19:23-26).

Be Obedient!

Don't become too attached to your life to the point where you leave no room to be obedient to God. God wants to deliver you from sin, pain, and suffering. There are some things, people, and places you must let go; flee from. When God tells you to do something do it. “Jesus replied, Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed (John 8:34-36).

Repent, and Jesus Will Set You Free, But Don't Look Back!
