Your neighbor may live next door, in the same community, or a neighboring community. Neighbors may be friends, family, or strangers. A neighbor may be anyone from anywhere, or in any country in need. We have many neighbors, and there are many ways that one can assist his neighbor.
Be No Respecter Of Persons
We can help all of our neighbors in need without prejudice. God is no respecter of persons (Acts 10:34)."Who shows no partiality to princes Nor regards the rich above the poor, For they all are the work of His hands? (Job 34:19). God is pleased when we consider our neighbors. He reminds us that, "For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. ...Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me (Mathew 25:35-36,40). Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God (Hebrews 13:16).
4 Of Many Things To Remember
1) For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land (Deuteronomy 15:11). 2) Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed (Proverbs 19:17).
3) Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you (Luke 6:38).
4) Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered (Proverbs 11:25).
