Are You Playing With Fire?

Fire is a combustion or burning, in which substances combine chemically with oxygen from the air and typically give out bright light, heat, and smoke. Fire is one of our greatest tools and one of our most destructive forces. As a precaution one must be mindful of how he handles it. Under no circumstances should fire be played with.

The Benefits Of Fire

Fire can help to keep you warm in cold places. It also lights up dark places. Fire is useful when it comes to killing harmful bacteria and poisons. Fire is beneficial with forest fires; they serve as a regeneration process that renews the soil, and resets the ecosystems clock in order for new things to grow beautifully. God's Fire from on High does the same in the life of the believer. However, one should not play with it.

3 reasons Why Man Should Be Careful with Fire

If proper care is not taken when handling fire, it may be catastrophic. Fire burns, it kills, and is nothing to play with. God's Fire from on High is nothing to play with, as learned in the case with the sons of Levi in the book of Leviticus. The first tabernacle had been erected, and Aaron was doing a lot of sacrificing per God’s instructions (Leviticus 8—9). One day, two of Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu, came along and offered incense with “strange fire.” The Hebrew word translated “strange” means “unauthorized, foreign, or profane.” God not only rejected their sacrifice; He found it so offensive that He consumed the two men with fire. (Leviticus 10:1-3).God displayed His displeasure in no uncertain terms.

Never Play With the Fire from On High

The Fire from on High is of God. It is a fire that can not be quenched, controlled, or handled by man. It is God's Holy Spirit. God gives us plenty of chances, but He will not be mocked. No one will dishonor His Holy Spirit and get away with it.

"Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaks a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaks against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."(Mathew 12:31-3)

For our God is a consuming fire." (Hebrews 12:29)
