Ever hear of the phrase a picture is worth a thousand words? I believe a picture is worth more than that. The definition of a picture is a visual representation of a person, object, or scene, as a painting, drawing, or photograph. They give the viewer an idea of how the person who took the picture sees. No one picture will be seen in the same way. It is the discernment of the viewer which gives him a deeper understanding of its creator, the object of its creation, and the scene. The creation of man is God's picture of life, Glory, and beauty that many Philosophers, Psychologists, Scientists, and laymen continue to research and be baffled by. We really don't have to look far to know that God created the picture of life and man, because we receive a dynamic visual representation of our creator every time we look into a mirror.
The Signature in the Picture
My daughter is an artist. She shares her pictures online. I used to tell her that she shouldn't do that because someone can claim her work as his own. She explained to me, in a childlike manner, that it is impossible to claim someone's work. Its like this, she said: many people draw, write, and create things in the field and or category relating to the thing they are drawing, writing, and creating. She explained that its not the category, its the person assigned to it. We may have the same talent, but no two people are going to utilize the talent the same way. We all have a signature. Signatures vary, like our fingerprints.
Created For His Namesake
No matter how one tries to explain or claim how man came to be, he cannot outside of God. Why? In the beginning God created the heaven and the Earth (Genesis 1:1). The heavens declare the Glory of God; and the firmament shows His Handiwork (Psalms 19:1). God is the Person represented in this picture: the heavens declare his glory. The signature of God in this creative picture is man. Why did God make man His signature? Because we are created in His image and likeness (Genesis 1:26,27). His signature lives in the part of us you cannot see with the naked eye: our soul/spirit has to be discerned. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! (Romans 11:33)
Refining His Picture
Since the time of the fall of man, God has been refining His picture. We see the dynamics of God's refinement when we look back over our lives. Moreover, when we read God's Word. God continues to work on His picture. And He shall sit as a Refiner and Purifier of silver: and He shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. (Malachi 3:3). He does this until He sees His face reflected in the metal. His image, like in the beginning. He watches and maintains the temperature, and then he stops the process. This process is to bring man to repent so that our soul/spirit may forever reveal His signature.
God created this picture.
