Personality is the total of complex behavior traits, and emotional characteristics. It is a consequential system where man developed patterns of traits that was acquired in relation to others, and other things. Man was designed to adapt to surroundings manifested by God, and aimed to help him identify himself as similar to God. Consequently, since the fall of man in the Garden Of Eden, our personalities became self-defining complex life narratives situated in culture and social context. God's Word is not meant to be perceived in the context of our culture and or social norms.
So, Who Are You?
According to James Allen, who wrote the self help book 'As A Man Thinketh So Is He', which was inspired by the book of proverbs 23:7 -(which warns all men to consider the over generosity of others before accepting, because there may be strings attached), since man is the author and finisher of his own thoughts, he, in his own thought-world had the power to change every condition, good or bad, that enters into his life. Mr. Allen states, that if a man work patiently and intelligently upon his thoughts, he may remake his life, and transform his circumstances. But, if your thoughts are a complex system of behavior and emotions in relation to others, and things, where do you start in the quest to renew your mind?
The Bible Is Where, and How, You Start To Renew The Mind
"For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counselor? (Romans 11:34). For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16).
Made In God's Image
"God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them (Genesis 1:27). Be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but so to think as to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to each man a measure of faith. (Romans 12:2-3).
Believe In God
Faith in God is the answer. He is Who holds the key to change man's condition. "For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain even of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring (Acts 17:28).
God Knows Your Name And Your Purpose
"Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee; I have appointed thee a prophet unto the nations (Jeremiah 1:5).
